Jul 8, 2008

It was a great, cool night with a little breeze and no rain so we all slept really well in our tents. We woke up to the Lancaster scenery of fields and silos, then packed up our stuff and headed out.

Our first stop was directly across the street at the Family Restaurant for the breakfast buffet. It was really good and we needed some good food to fuel us for the big day.

Our first course was at Buchmiller Park. The course was set up nicely, with quite a few fun holes. Jeff hit a great shot from pretty far back on this hole.

Overall I thought the course was pretty good. It's a nice park to begin with, only a few holes that I didn't care for. As always we had to search for our discs in the woods a few times and I brushed a plant that stung my leg pretty bad for a while. It went away, so hopefully it's gone.

Our next stop was Roland Park in Akron. It started out being really fun, but at some point the tees and the holes seemed to be misplaced or repeated. We tried to figured it out, but some weren't even labeled. We continued through, playing the holes that looked good and moving on in our own path.

On the second to last hole, right after he had lost a disc in the water, Ryan's Beast disc got stuck in a high branch of a tree. It took forever to find it up there. Chuck noticed it after we had been searching the ground for about fifteen minutes or more.

We got sticks and rocks and took turns throwing things at it until Ryan finally hit it and knocked it to the ground. In the process, however, I found a Cheetah disc for myself!

The final hole was the one we were all looking forward to.

The tee is right at the edge of the pond and you have to throw straight over to the hole.

It's over a hundred feet and we all cleared it with ease.. mostly. Chuck may have killed or seriously wounded a baby duck, but we'll never know for sure.

The hole was a lot of fun and a nice addition to change things up.

This course has great potential to be a lot of fun, but until there is a definite route and better marking on each tee, it's just a pain in the ass to navigate. A lot of really good holes to play though.

We headed out of town after that course, deciding to go to the Wilmington course that Ryan and I played a few weeks ago. Jeff and Chuck were tired from the day so they napped with each other in the back seat.

The Wilmington course was fun, we skipped some holes because of time and being tired. We spent a lot of time searching for discs on hole two as well. I lost my Beast in the top of a tree on hole four. I'm liking the new Cheetah as a replacement though.

We finished up right around sunset and drove home. Everyone unpacked the car and went their separate ways. There was talk of a poker game, but we don't have enough people to play so I'm going to shower and get some sleep.
