Jul 18, 2008

It was set to be a big day and it started with a big movie. I picked up Chuck and met Steve and Katie at the movie theater to watch The Dark Knight. It didn't let me down at all! I thought it was a great, dark movie. There were few things I would have changed, but overall everything was amazing.

After the movie, the band retreated to Jeff's to practice a bit. We only practiced two songs and then had to get going. Once everyone found their way to the place, we came in and set up. Even though we were a little late, the PA wouldn't work and we had to wait another half hour for the sound guy.

We went out for a drink once we were set up. Cheers to not fucking up too bad!

After a couple shots of liquid courage we went back inside to wait.

The PA started working and we got into our set.

The crowd was typically still during our set of songs they didn't know.

I had a good time.

We talked Jeff into playing the cover of Don't Stop Believin' while we were on stage.

Chuck posed for all of his pictures while playing.

And Steve changed the ending of our last song on the spot. But we caught on and it went well. We got compliments from the crowd and other bands even though we didn't feel that we did our best.

We got through the show, so cue the victory shots.

..and then the rest of the bottle.

We had a little photo shoot in the parking lot after we played.

We got some good shots between the wrestling.

We went back in to view the rest of the bands, including: Streetcar, Where the Ocean Meets the Sky, Fire in the Eyes of the City, The Filthy 42s, The New Sabrosa and Wellsping and Honor. All the other bands were really good and I hope to see them/play with them again.
After the show ended I went to Katie's for a short time and had something to eat before going home to sleep.
