June 21, 2008

I spent most of my day in front of these computer or behind the counter selling cameras. I sold one at least.

Chuck and I practiced throwing for a while before Ryan showed up, then we played a real game.

I matched my best score yet, which is surprising since I did pretty badly on some holes.

After golf, Ryan and I went to swim for a very short time at his aunt's house. It started to lightning right after we got in, so it was short-lived.

I went to Jimmy's and watched There Will Be Blood with Nate and Jeff. It was a good movie, but I fell asleep toward the end, I need to watch it from the middle again.

The coming week should be fun, I need to get sleep now since I probably won't get much in the coming days.

Ryan and I were going to go to a water park today, but the forecast was for storms and I was tired, so we ended up going to Brandywine Creek State Park to play disc golf. There was a lot of traffic into Delaware but once we got to the course it was a nice quiet open place.

The holes were much different than the ones in Vineland, with more distance and open space than trees.

We had to use long drives often. It was a lot of fun but it was very time consuming. I'd like to go try that one again soon. We got our discs lost in the brush a handful of times and Ryan cut himself on a rock wall, but it was all worth it.

We also got to try out the 9-hole Riverview course in Pennsville. It was a very nice park in general that I would go to without discs. I'd like to take my bike back there actually.

We played both difficulty tees to make a full 18 hole course and stopped by the river to check out the nice view of the Delaware Memorial bridge. I also want to come back with my other camera.

Later on, Katie and I went to Jimmy's to watch Spaceballs with Jeff and Sam.

I was eager to get some sleep after not getting much at all the night before.

I worked for six hours in the afternoon, then met Nate, Ryan and Matt at the course to play. It was good and we got through it pretty quickly.

After I showered and got ready, Jeff, Chuck, Maureen and I went to Philly to meet Sam and Erin at Erin's apartment before going to Standard Tap.

It was a somewhat quiet bar, but we had a good time.

Jeff and Chuck are friends.

Until Chuck tries to steal Sam!

This picture tells the story.

Chuck and I celebrate his victory.

I'm tired and want to go home. I do go home, but then I meet Katie and we hang out for a while and eventually make smoothies at her house in the morning. I was very tired by then.

I worked for a short time in the afternoon and one of the main things I did was watch a chemical safety video. It was lame.

I met Jeff for disc golf after work and played pretty well.

My Valkyrie was lost in the water, but I found Jeff's disc.

We met up with Chuck and met Sam and Erin & co. at Clancy's in the Deptford area. It was a nice little town bar and we had a few drinks for Erin's birthday.

Then we headed to Sugar Mom's in Philly. It was a pretty awesome off-the-beaten-path bar in a basement. They had some good beers and 25 cent pierogies.

Erin downed quite a few birthday drinks with a pickle chaser, of course!

We're having fun, the bartender said I was his friend and gave me a chip. Wink.

Sara and Tony.

James, Sarah, jake and Erin.

Chuck making a drunk pose. And Jeff making a face.

The bar was a lot of fun and I think Erin had a fun birthday. We had a good time and good pierogies that Sam insisted on paying for! I'd like to go back there some day.

June 17, 2008

After running seven miles last night around Millville, I was still sleeping when Jeff called me to come play disc golf. We both played good games though. I got a shower and went to work right after that.

Once I was done work, I got some food and headed to Jeff's to practice.

We played for several hours, getting a good deal of work done on a few songs. It was a lot of fun.

When Jimmy got home with Luke, we played some poker. Steve Drummer ended up taking most of the money, while Luke and I just got our buy-in back.

It was a fun day and night, I need to get some sleep so I can have another one tomorrow.

June 16, 2008

Before work, Ryan, Jeff and I played disc golf. Ryan's disc went off course a bit and he ended up in the water trying to find it.

Work was short, then Jimmy, Chuck and I went to Philly to see Get Smart. We had tickets to a special free early screening of it, so we waited in line for a pretty short time before being ushered in. After a brief introduction and promotional thing, the movie began. It was really good and funny. It didn't disappoint at all.

We went to the Abbaye after the movie for some food and drinks. I've been seeing a lot of this place lately.

I took Jimmy and Chuck up in the PSFS building to check out the view.

Jimmy is giving a funny look but you can't see it.

They got cheesesteaks at Pat's.

I got pretzels from the factory.

We drove home talking about other plans for this summer and things we did previous summers. I am about to go running now because it's nice out and I like running at night.

Maureen and I went to the Philadelphia Zoo today.

The penguins were an obvious early attraction for me. It was warm but not too bad for walking around.

Most of the animals were out and doing things.

I got quite a few really good pictures (not pictured) that, when I stop being lazy, will be posted on my other site. Soon. I hope.

We walked over to Fairmount Park once we left and walked around for a short time. I got some nice pictures from there too.

Took the timer picture before we left.

We headed back to Jersey and went to Chili's for lunch. I got a quesadilla explosion. We looked up movie times and then went to see The Incredible Hulk. It was really good, but then everything that Ed Norton touches is gold.

I took Maureen home because she wasn't feeling well, then I headed home and later to Jimmy's to play rummy with him and Jeff. I got really tired suddenly and came home to sleep.
