Jul 22, 2008

I got up, somewhat sore from sleeping on the ground, and had breakfast in the form of a granola bar.

We went to a close waterfall trail called Dark Hallow Falls.

We hiked down and received this warning when we got close. I get it.

The falls were nice, but there was a big group of people there for a while.

We stayed for a while and I climbed up rocks and took pictures. Then we headed back up. Katie wasn't as big a fan of the uphill part of hiking, but we made it back to the car and went to get some real food at the Wayside. The service sucked, but the food was good.

After a while, we decided to go down another falls trail that started near the campground lodge. It was pretty long trip down and we saw a bear (see ^.) Don't tell my grandmother, she always warns me about them.

I went out to look over the top of the falls and it looked pretty sweet.

Unfortunately, the trail stopped abruptly not far down and this was the only view we got of them. We came back up and gathered some firewood after resting for a bit. I managed to get stung by three bees while trying to break of a log.

We went back up to Black Rock to check out the view before sunset this time.

Storm clouds were moving in so it looked pretty cool.

I climbed up and sat on a rock that stuck out over the cliff a little farther than the main area.

We came back and cooked more eggplant, this time with less spices, but added mushrooms and onions to them. They were excellent. We also roasted vegan hot dogs.

It started to rain right after we got done eating, so we packed it up and came into the tent. We played dominoes a few times and then decided to go to sleep after the exhausting day we had.
