Jan 31, 2009

It was very cold today but Ryan and I went out for a game of disc golf anyway. We played half the course and got the idea to try and throw a disc across the pond. My attempt failed.

Ryan pitched his and it skidded right up onto the bank of the other side.

There was much celebration.

As you can see, the disc made it well up onto the other side. It's a good distance. I tried again and failed again. I dropped my car off for an oil change after the game and went to Applebee's with my dad for lunch.

The clouds looked crazy at sunset on the way home so I stopped at the lake for some shots. I put another up on Red Eyes and Snapshot.

Katie and I almost went to Atlantic City but then we didn't. We just hung out at her house for a while. Now I'm home and ready for House and bed.

Jan 30, 2009

I started today working at Memorial for an English class. I wrote their assignment on the board and handed out their quizzes. And they were quiet. They did their work. That was it. It was the strangest thing. It was nice, but confusing. So my day there went really smoothly.

I decided to hit the gym after work and take this flattering photo of myself while getting ripped... yeah.

We all met up at my house a little later and drove up to Philly. We got some free parking then we got some great falafel. Maybe I was just hungry but it was really good tonight. We spent a good amount of time hanging out in there, eating the stack of pickles that Katie got.

"Do you smell that falafel cookin'?"
Maybe that takes some explanation... anyone else think that guy looks like The Rock? Click on it.. come on... get it? Okay I'm done.

We took the subway tunnels to keep out of the cold when we walked down to Yakitori Boy, the sushi place we went on my birthday.

We got the Moshi ice cream again. It's so small but so amazingly good. We waited about an hour for our check and some guys at another table though I was taking pictures of myself in the bathroom... just the Chinese character on the door, my friends. Sorry to disappoint.

After a walk back underground, we headed out of the city and home with Tears For Fears on the stereo. It was a good night out, don't you agree?

Jan 29, 2009

I had classes today of course. Aesthetics was pretty cool, talking about Plato and his writing about Socrates. I like that stuff. I had a break, where I finished watching Green Street Hooligans. Good movie. Then I had my calculus class where we learned to use graphing calculators. I wish we could be exempt from classes if all we'd be doing is reviewing stuff we learned in high school.

I came home and had some good dinner and watched Life on Mars. It seems much later than it is. I think I'm gonna get to bed early in the hopes that I'll have a job in the morning time.

Up to date

I am officially up to date on everything.... there are some voids in what happened on certain days, but they're all up now... so go back and find yourself in a picture then leave a comment to let me know you're still reading.

Jan 28, 2009

After spending a lot of time inside on the computer because I didn't get a job this morning, I went over to the lake to take pictures. This is the same lake where I take pictures of sunsets and rainbows... it looks quite different. On the way out I was stopped by an officer of the law because my license plate was snowed under and he couldn't read it. No ticket.

I went over behind the library to take some shots of the mostly undisturbed paths and the new footbridge. My photo class was canceled so I went and ran for a while at my grandmom's because the gym was too crowded.

I decided to take a full snow day and not go to my Moral Problems class. It was going to be late and icy... plus I wanted to watch Lost. After that was over I met people at Applebee's. Jimmy showed up with his new tattoo.

We had boneless wings (and boned wings for Nate) galore and a few beers while we talked about a range of subjects including Jimmy creating a new language, several of us working on our card game called Congress and how to use the word "Duckumentary" in our show.

It was quite a grand time at the old Applebee's in Vineland. I need to do some reading for my Aesthetics class tomorrow now before I go to bed.

Jan 27, 2009

I didn't get a job this morning so I stayed home while it snowed and did laundry. I had to get to school and I ended up getting there really early so I had time to take some shots. I had two classes then a break where I worked on getting my other blog heading in the direction I want.

After Calculus, I headed home in the snow. It was covered pretty good by the time I got to my house. I had to go out and get some pictures of it since it won't last.

I watched some shows and had dinner. Now I'm watching House before I go to bed.

Jan 26, 2008

I worked as a Computer teacher in the morning, giving the mid-term/final exams for two classes during the half-day schedule. I got paid for the full day which was awesome and I got my homework reading done. After that I went home for lunch and headed up to Rowan for Photo and Digital Media, which teaches Photoshop... aka things I already know and that class is going to suck. I came home after class and basically went right to sleep.

Jan 25, 2009

I went over to the course for a while in the afternoon and played disc golf with Nate. After the game I went and printed out some pictures for my portfolio at Ritz. Once Katie was done work, we had dinner and watched Smart People. It's a good movie, check it.

Jan 24, 2009

It was still pretty nice outside so I went to the course in the afternoon for a run around the pond. It had been a while. I went to the gym after that.. it had been even longer since I did that. After all the exercise I didn't do much else until the evening. I went for a drive and then ended up hanging out at Katie's for a few hours watching Friends.

Jan 23, 2009

I was a Geography teacher at Lakeside in the morning time. I had to deal with a lot of annoying kids for some reason. They just can't be quiet.

I met Nate for a game after school. It was a nice day out for winter. Kind of warm even. I had a pretty good game too.

Nate, Chuck and I met up later to see Slumdog Millionaire at the theater. It was an awesome flick. Definitely worth checking out at least once before it's out of theaters.

Jan 22, 2009

After working the day as a math teacher at Lakeside, I went up to Rowan for a couple classes. I skipped my math class (we were only doing some state survey test anyway) and Dave picked me up to go to Philly for the Reel Big Fish! We parked and went to look for scalpers because we didn't have tickets. We ended up following these guys around the street.. Dave gave them the money and let them walk away to get the tickets... needless to say they never came back with the money or tickets.. We went and had a few beers and a slice from Lorenzo's and I decided that this was just "the story" for this time since there is always something ridiculous that happens when we go to see the Fish. Anyway, we got tickets from another scalper for decent prices and finished getting drunk at Mako's before heading in.

The show was awesome of course. They played almost anything and everything we could want to hear. I did a lot of dancing and even got Dave in on some of it.

We both spent way too much money but we had a great time and my hair was awesome at the end of the night.

Jan 21, 2009

I got to work in the morning as an ESL teacher at Memorial and the Senior High... then I headed up to school for my first day in Photography. I think it will be a good class. The class after that was cancelled on our first day of class... awesome.

I went home after that and watched the season premeire of Lost and didn't do much more than that.

Jan 20, 2009

I got up in the morning and went to Chuck's to watch inauguration of President Obama. We ordered pizza and hung out to watch the historic event. I enjoyed it. Sorry, Jeff.

Right after that I rejoined the ranks of student at Rowan for another semester. I had the introductions of Art History III, Aesthetics and Calculus. Katie brought me a falafel for lunch.. that was pretty awesome.

Jan 19, 2009

After we cleaned up and had breakfast, we left the house of Lorden to head back home. It seemed like a long drive back.

I didn't do a lot when I got back. I got ready for school for the next day and then went to Jimmy's to play games with him and Nate.

Jan 18, 2009

We got up after everyone had left for skiing and went to another disc golf course in Hickory Run State Park.

This course seems like it would be a lot of fun whenever we played it. It was easy to get lost in the thick woods though.

We went over to Camelback to ski but the crowds were insane, so we opted to go back to the lodge and just hang out instead. We had dinner and went for a walk later in the night before going to bed.

Jan 17, 2009

Our first order of business in the mountains was to get some snow golf in.

We found a course called Francis E. Walter Dam (it was in the park that the actual dam is in.)

It was a fun course to play in the snow. Luckily someone had played earlier and left their footprints for us to follow. Otherwise we would never have found some of the tees.

At night, we went to Big Boulder for skiing. It wasn't too exciting but we got to race down a diamond a few times. It was freezing that night though.

After skiing in the bitter cold for a few hours, we came back to the house and hung out in the warmth watching tv.

Jan 16, 2009

First, it's been a while since I have updated and there is a big gap between this and the last post. I am going to fill in some of the empty dates but I have given up on trying to fill them all in, so I figured it would be easier to start fresh and not try to catch up. So I worked as an English teacher at Lakeside again, the same kids I had earlier in the week but they were better this time.

After work I came home and packed before meeting up with Ryan at his house and driving up to Lorden, the house in the Poconos that we go to each year. It was a long drive up and we had some time to hang out before getting to bed.

Jan 15, 2009

Katie, Nate, Chuck and I went to South Street for lunch and with nothing else to do really. We had lunch at Whole Foods, which was unusually mediocre, then we walked around. It was pretty cold and we didn't really go anywhere special. We went to a comic shop and then Beyond the Wall for a while before we called it a day and headed back home.

We had band practice that evening and worked on a new song that should be really great once we practice a few more times. We played some games after practice with Jimmy before I went home.
