Dec 31, 2008

For New Years Eve we had a Mortal Kombat Martini party. Sub Zero was there.

Kano vs Johnny Cage.. Toasty!

Friendship? Again?

We hung out in the basement playing Mortal Kombat for quite a while.

Kitana was also present.

The games were good. We played while we ate stuffed mushrooms and chips.

When it was time we went upstairs to sort of countdown to the new year.

Happy New Year from Sub Zero.

We posed for a family photo in the basement.

We look good.

We were all drinking a good amount.

Especially Jeff.

Is that a camera?

We broke out the karaoke game after a while and sang for a few hours. There weren't a lot of great songs but it was still good fun.

I was ready for sleep after I stopped drinking so I pulled out the futon and tried to sleep for a few hours.

Jeff, Chuck, Nate and I played some Monopoly at night. Nate raked in all of the money and it was his alleged first time winning the game, ever! We also learned some of the real rules of the game.. some of them aren't as fun.

After that rousing night of fun, I'm sure I was quite tired.

For my birthday, Katie first made me a vegetarian breakfast burrito and then took me to Philly. She took me to a place that I hadn't been in a little complex and led me blindfolded (sort of) to a door.

It turned out to be a massage. I had never gotten one before and it was pretty nice.

Do I look more relaxed?

After that we had to kill some time so we went to the Irish Pub and had a few beers.

Katie then led me to a sushi house downtown and we walked to a back room where they opened the door to all my friends saying "Suh-prise!" I was actually very surprised, it was awesome.

Jordan gave me my Christmas present after a great dinner of sushi with some awesome desserts.

That kind of booty.

We had a big bill at the end of the night but it was a great meal. I was full.

I had an awesome day and night, I was very surprised at everyone being at the restaurant. Good birthday!

Ryan and I took our annual holiday ski trip. It was quite warm for most of the day and the night was chilly, but not cold by skiing standards. I didn't even wear a jacket. We had a good time though.

This is always one of the days of the year I look forward to. It was good.

After doing not much but a game of disc golf in the afternoon with Nate, the night time came and I went to the Bayside show at Hangar 84. Valencia opened and they were pretty darn good. Their new cd is worth checking out.

Bayside played a great mix of new and old songs.

Anthony was passionate as always.

They slowed it down a few times and even played their cover of Megan.

Twas a good night for music.

Ryan and I played a holiday game of disc golf in the afternoon. I must have done other things but I don't know what they were.

I probably just played with Wall E.

Christmas was the usual. I got up at home and got money from my mom to pay for school. My sister actually got me and awesome Canon Rebel 35mm that I can use in my class this semester.

I went to my dad's after that. He gave me money and a hoodie. I got to hang out with the nephew for a while there too.

I just hung out with Katie and night and watched things. Christmas usually ends just like any other day, just hanging out.

Christmas Eve.. actually all of these events take place after midnight so it was technically Christmas.

Katie and I met up and exchanged gifts. She got me some awesome stuff, including this talking robotic Wall E!

I got her some sweet stuff as well... this fitting Carnivore T and pair of awesome Vans boots so she doesn't have to wear Uggs.

We hung out playing with Wall E and our new stuff for a while before calling it a night and waiting for the real Christmas.

I worked at the resource room in Lakeside for the half-day before the holiday break. There wasn't really anything to do.. because it's the resource room and because of the holiday. We watched the news and some Christmas movies throughout the day, that was about it. After school I played a round of disc golf with Nate and Chuck.

The pictures do not reflect it, but we had the family party at my aunt's house tonight as well. Everyone was there, we exchanged gifts and ate food. Lots of food. I had to leave for band practice, but I'm not much for big crowded rooms of family anyway. We got some practice in and hung out a little before taking off.

Dec 20, 2008

After a day of disc golf and not much more, I met the band at Jeff's house to get ready for our show at Hangar 84.

We had some time to kill when we got there, and we didn't even get to use the backstage area because the bands the night before had wrecked it... bastards.

We chose to go in the middle of the lineup since more people would be there so we hung out while a few other bands played.

Once it was our turn, we went out and played a good set with our new song, "Sleepless in Millville."

It was fun, but the crowd seemed to know all the other bands and they went back to the bleachers for our set.

We played to our standard crowd. We hung around for another band or two after our set, then headed back to Jeff's house for party part 2. We brought the leftovers from the night before and some beer and did some more holiday drinking! We had a good time.

It was so good, that we crashed at Jeff's for the night and woke up to a completely ice-covered world. My car had a giant sheet of ice encapsulating it. It was crazy.

I came home to get some real sleep in my bed.
