Feb 29, 2008

The day started with a meeting of the minds at CCC to work on Katie's speeches and choose my photos for my portfolio interview. Much was accomplished.

I met Jimmy and Chris at the movies to see Will Ferrell 'fro it up in Semi-Pro. It was quite funny but I'm almost more excited for his next movie, Stepbrothers!

Following the movie, we made a stop at Applebee's. Twice in two days is normal for me.

I decided I wanted to go see Bayside at night, so I picked up Katie and we headed to Allentown. It started snowing when we got to the Crocodile Rock.

As is tradition, we sat in the car and drank a good amount of beer before entering.

I got snowed on walking back to the car for more beer.

We got in just in time to see Straylight Run start. They played a great set, with quite a few older songs.

Bayside hit the stage next, opening with "Carry On." The pit opened up right away and stayed that way all night.

Anthony grabbed his acoustic guitar for the fan-favorite "Don't Call Me Peanut." It was a nice break, but it didn't last long. The set roared on through tracks from all of their releases, mixed up nicely until the essential closer "Devotion and Desire."

I collapsed in the snow after an amazing performance.

The drive home was tedious in the snow and because I was tired. I got home and fell asleep really quickly.

Feb 28, 2008

I had art class in the afternoon and, as I suspected, I didn't have all the work done for it. After a frustrating class, I met Katie at AC Moore to get a few things, then went to Applebees for half-time. The wings were extra spicy and extra filling.

We saved the rest for later.

As I do every Thursday, I went to Maureen's for Lost. We got a Sam Adam's variety pack and some chips before settling down to watch the show. We played with Max (or Max bit me repeatedly) all night while he kept trying to get some beer. After Lost, I went to Jimmy's and watched Killing John Lennon. It was a really interesting movie. Strange only because of the seemingly literal insight into the mind of Lennon's killer. We played some Uno Attack and then I came home and passed out.

I had class early this morning, during which I did nothing but talk to the people I sit with about movies and politics. After class I came home for a short time and did laundry until it was time for my doctor's appointment. I had to get a pre-employment physical for the Board of Ed. Once that fun was over, I went to AC Moore with Katie.

We met at Jimmy's later for poker. I didn't do well at all. I had no cards the whole night. Johanna came and played though, I haven't seen her in years probably.

After poker, I went to Ryan's cousin's house and we took a walk in the bitter freezing cold. Once we had subjected ourselves to enough of that, we came back and played Rock Band for a while before calling it a night. I have work that's due tomorrow in class, I don't think it's going to be done.

Feb 26, 2008

The day started out with meeting Maureen at the Peking Buffet for lunch. I haven't had chinese in a while, so it was really good. Then I went to class and painted with ink for a while. After class I came home for a bit and went to Jimmy's.

We watched random things on tv and then played Uno until we were all very tired and I came home.

Feb 25, 2008

After laying in bed watching Oz for a little while, I got up and got to work on my final project due for today. It's the one with the grey arrows. I like that one better than most of the others that I did.

We hung up our work to be critiqued in class, and for the most part I got a good review. A few suggestions for how to make them a little better was all that was really said.

I had to stop by CCC to get my transcript sent to the Board of Ed for employment.

Then I went and picked up my camera that I left at Katie's last night.

I came home and slept for a long time to make up for last night. I got up and had some breakfast dinner, then went to Katie's to watch American History X. She had never seen it before!

I worked out for a short while at my grandmom's house and now I'm home. I have to get tired so I can get some sleep now.

Feb 24, 2008

This isn't breakfast. This is my Captain Crunch snack while working on my art projects. I didn't leave the house besides to visit my grandmom most of the day. Later on, I went to Katie's because I had a few things due for Color & Design class. I got all but one done.

Katie worked on sketches for her portfolio while distracting me from working on my stuff.

I came home and went to bed for a short time, but never fell asleep.

Feb 23, 2008

I was up somewhat early today and headed down to AC.

I went to the Taj Mahal box office and was the first one in line... a line that never actually formed behind me, but I was the only one there.

I got seven tickets to the Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Dear and the Headlights show in May.

I stopped at my grandmom's on the way home and saw the neighbors demolishing the pool that once belonged to my great grandparents. It's kinda sad, I have a lot of great memories swimming there.

Next I taught Katie to play poker at Ritz. Then we played some rummy.

I went to Jimmy's later and watched an old Michael Moore movie and some of the Jackass 24 Hour MTV Takeover. I have some homework to do before Monday, I'm not sure when I'm gonna do it.

Feb 22, 2008

I started out going to drop off my information and applications at the Culver Center. Unfortunately, they told it could take a few weeks for my background check to come through and I can't start substituting until then.

I had to drop off Ryan's graphing calculator to Carissa at the rescue squad. After I had something to eat I went to the gym and then headed over to Jimmy's.

Katie brought over Uno Attack. It was a fun twist on the original game. So if anyone has any other board or card games that we haven't played, bring them over! That's what we do. We watched some tv then I headed home.

Feb 21, 2008

This doesn't do the sky justice, but it looked awesome while I was driving up 55 today.

I went to AC Moore for a few art supplies.

Then I went to Outback to use the rest of my gift card on buffalo chicken strips. I headed over to Maureen's after that and we ate while playing with the dog and watching Mythbusters. We watched the new Lost and last week's episode that was on before it.

I went down to my grandmom's house and met Katie to work on some projects. I was initially unmotivated and took a break early on to watch poker. Katie wasn't feeling well and took off early. I put on Sleepless in Seattle and started working again. I got quite a bit done, for once not the night before something was due. Once that movie was done I watched Catch and Release. I had seen both flicks before, allowing me to work while I watched.

At some point, it started snowing. It was a while before I noticed because my car was covered when I looked outside. I packed up, cleaned off my car and headed home around 6:30.

I always say one of my favorite things is waking up and seeing everything covered in snow. It's much more effective when you don't know it's going to be that way. I'm not sure I'll get the chance to see that this year, so this will have to do.

I'm not sure if I'm going to sleep now or staying up for a bit. I have a few things I need to do and I'd like to get them started before I sleep until 4 and then go out and leave them undone.

Feb 20, 2008

I started today at class, drawing arrows repeatedly to make a black and white pattern. I came home and hung around for a while until it was time for my fingerprinting appointment in Vineland. It was quick, easy and computerized, leaving no black ink on my fingers at all.

Later on, I went to Staples to make photocopies for my collage project that's due tomorrow. Some worked better than others.

I went to Katie's and cut out my copies to paste on the page while she painted for her portfolio.

This is the finished product (unless I add some playing cards tomorrow.) I like it better now that I'm looking at it than I did while I was creating it.

I took off to Jimmy's to play poker. I was doing alright and coming back until I was all in with Jeff and he beat me on river with a full house over the nut flush. It was quite an upset, indeed.

Next, Katie and I headed to Philly.

The pretzel factory was opening late and it was very cold out. Luckily Katie brought David Bowie's hair to keep her warm.

Warm pretzels in hand, we ate and drove home.

I think this picture shows how tired I feel right now, so I'm signing off.
