Apr 30, 2009

I went up to Rowan for my last Art History and Aesthetics classes today. The former was just as always and the latter was somewhat more relaxed, but with the same lack of participation in class discussion by most.

I played a game of disc golf with Nate after class and then met Johanna for a drink at Applebee's after I showered. I didn't actually have a drink but I had some food. I haven't been in the mood to drink lately.

I went up to Rowan later with Katie for the Saves the Day show at the fitness center. After the awful band before them finished late, we went in and watched them put on a great show. They played a good mix of songs, I just wish they could have played longer. The crowd was surprisingly good too.

I need to listen to the newer Saves the Day cd more.

Apr 29, 2009

I had to finish doing some developing and deciding which photos to use for my prints in Photography class, then I had to find an article to take with me to Contemporary Moral Problems for our last official class together. It was a pretty informal discussion on our final paper topics.

A bunch of us played poker later at Dave's. I hadn't played in a really long time nor was I really in the mood for a big group of people and loudness, so I played for a couple of hours and then left with a little extra money.

It just felt good to come home and relax a little bit.

Apr 28, 2009

I spent the morning finishing up some work and then I had to go to class. Art History and Aesthetics were the usual. We started to watch a "remix" of Birth of a Nation that was pretty boring. I spent most of my time writing.

I met up with Katie* and went to get sushi at Samurai. I decided to go all out and get a spider roll. It was good.. just not as good as Yakitori Boy. Lunch didn't last that long because I had to go to take a quiz in my math class. It was my final exam basically because I didn't need to take the final.

I spent the rest of the night after class hanging out, I went to the library for a little bit, got a smoothie and enjoyed the weather outside.

Apr 27, 2009

In the morning, I put my bike in my trunk and headed off to Philly.

I spent the day riding from the Art Museum area through center city and by the waterfront taking photos for class. I waited a long time to work on my final project so it came down to this.

I wasn't sure what my focus was going to be for the project so I took a lot of shots and hoped one would emerge. Once I finished taking three rolls of film, I headed back to develop my film in class.

I went over to Nathan's studio where Chuck was recording the first guitar tracks. It sounds awesome already.

I met Chuck and Nate at Applebee's for wings later that night and then went out for a walk with Ryan. It was a nice night to be outside.

Apr 26, 2009

These pictures are not representative of my day completely. I went out and played a few holes of disc golf in the morning because I wanted to be outside for the insanely warm weather we are having. I didn't play for long before I left and went to Jeff's house. After Jenell and The Yets' practice Steve got around to finishing up the drum tracks.

He finished the three we needed to get done and then we recorded an instrumental track live that we'll be doing vocals for later. The drum tracks sound great. I can't wait to hear the rest of it.

I did some shopping and then came home to eat and get a shower. I went back to Jimmy's and we all played cards for a while until we were all just sitting around the table doing nothing. Now I'm home and thinking about how it sucks when it's too warm at night.

Apr 25, 2009

We started the official recording of Argyle Gargoyle's yet-to-be-titled cd today. We began with the drums. I played along while Steve laid down the tracks.

We took a break for lunch and then Nathan got us back into the groove and we finished up. We got about five tracks finished with another three to go.

I took Jeff and gave him his "surprise" which was tickets to the Alkaline Trio/Saves the Day show at Starland Ballroom. He is officially a teacher now.. well he's certified. No more student teaching for him.

After sitting in a lot of traffic, we got to the show and had a few beers before going in. We sat and made words from letters in license plates to amuse ourselves.

We saw Saves the Day do a few songs and then Alkaline Trio came on and played a slew of songs. They have way too many cds so it's hard to hear the songs your really want to. They put on a good show though.

We were all really hungry after the show so we made our way to Maoz in Philly where it was insanely crowded. We got our falafel (Tracy's first) and I made a mess of myself while eating. It was really good.

I had a fun time and Jeff was surprised by the show so that's what I was going for. I have had enough driving for a while. Happy birthday, Jimmy.

Apr 24, 2009

I had the same Geography class again today. The kids were okay but a lot were crazy again. Sometimes my non-work job is stressful.

It was amazing outside so I went and played a few holes and then drove over to Parvins for a run around the pond a couple times. It was nice to run there again.

After dinner and shower, I went to Christie's sister's to watch Pineapple Express and Garden State while having a few beers. Now I'm home and not sleeping when I should be..

Apr 23, 2009

I worked for a Geography class at Lakeside in the morning. Some of the kids were a pain but I left early anyway.

I had my earlier classes and on my break, I went to the gallery opening to check it out and have some food. They had a good selection of food.

The work was really awesome too. A lot of the pieces I wanted to take home for myself. This one I really liked.

After math class, we got Chinese, watched The Office and 30 Rock and then I went to sleep eventually.

Apr 22, 2009

I had Photo class in the afternoon after skipping another day of potential work. I didn't really have anything to do because I haven't taken any shots lately. I'm gonna be busy soon.

I had to give a presentation in Ethics and then I had to leave and set up for our set on Rowan TV.

We were playing in a little room with cameras and lots of people trying to make us sound good... haha. It was strange but fun.

We got to play three songs live on Rowan TV. We've made it to the big time, this must be what playing Late Night talk shows are like! Except they're not live. Hopefully we'll have the video soon so I can put it up.

We went over to Landmark after the set for some food and drink. I got a portabella and pepper sandwich that was awesome. Christie, Tracy and Laura came out too.

I had a lot of Magic Hat beer but it didn't seem to be affecting me much at all.

It looks like Chuck is taking a picture.. or trying to grope me.

It was a fun day overall. Jeff pretended that he wasn't coming to sing for us, I had to find my way around campus to the parking lot by the studio, I got to give an impromptu speech that was only partially the truth about what I did in my projects... and then we played a show and had beers! Good times!

Apr 21, 2009

No job in the morning cuz I'm lazy but I did go to Rowan for my afternoon classes. Then I waited for a while until my night class and did that. Boring.

I got out early and ran down to play Quizzo as usual.

This was our team most of the time because Dave went to the Flyers game. Johanna and Rick showed up as well and we got some help from the old guys next to us that didn't like the crazy woman either.

We ended up in fifth place. Not too bad for such a small team and NO knowledge for the sports round at all. Go Channel 4 News Team!

Apr 20, 2009

I had to gather all my artwork that I was handing in for the Core Review this morning and drop it off in the black room at Westby and then leave while the private judging eyes of the Rowan hierarchy made their determination. I passed.

I came home for a while and got stuff done and took a nap before I had to travel back up to school for Photo class. I developed Katie's film while she went to Philly. She came back just in time for Digital Media and we ate falafel while we waited for the rest of the class to arrive late.

That class lasted a long time because no one pays attention and our teacher doesn't tell them to shut up and listen. I came home and watched some stuff and now I'm thinking about bed.

Apr 19, 2009

I got up in the morning and finished my Ethics paper somehow after putting it off for so long. We needed some supplies so Katie and I went up to Philly and got board and acetate at Dick Blick. We stopped by the art museum for a ticket and went to to the Chinese Market for some vegan foods. We went to Whole Foods and I got some hot bar food that was alright.

We found our way over to the World Cafe Live, where I'd like to play a show sometime.

They had Nugget Nectar on tap so we got that and eggplant fries which were really good.

When we got back home we waited for a while and then went to work on my Art Core Review stuff. I had to mount and wrap fifteen of my works from my semesters at Rowan for review to see if I'm meeting their standards or something. Anyway, we had to cut things and wrap them in plastic and it took a while.

Once we were done I piled them in the back of my car. They looked pretty good actually.

I came home after that and couldn't really sleep but I watched some tv and eventually drifted off.
