Aug 2, 2010

I went up to Rowan in the morning in hopes of doing a photoshoot with Shannon but they keys to the studio were nowhere to be found. While I was there I picked up a copy of the Gallery book and the new Avant magazine, both of which I have work in. Avant credited me for two photos but only put one in the book. Brilliant. Also, we got a new clock on campus.

With no studio to shoot in, we went to Philly for lunch. It's been a while since I had an authentic Maoz falafel. It did not disappoint. Fries with garlic sauce = mmm.

Speaking of mmm, I went to the new smoothie place on Fourth St. and commented on this delicious looking pie, which got me a free slice. I felt bad not buying anything at that point so I got a smoothie, despite the woman really trying to seem like she knew what she was talking about when it came to organic health food but failing miserably, even to someone who doesn't know that much. The pie was worth going back for though. Delicious.

Once I had my smoothie, we headed out. I made a friend along the way. I think we'll get along.. it looks like he skis.

Chuck, Diebra and her friend Jen came to my house and I drove us up to Asbury Park. We stopped for pizza and got to The Stone Pony in time for a great sunset, which I walked around taking picture of before we went inside.

After Lemuria, whose live show was not that great, New Found Glory came out. They played just the kind of set I was hoping for: fast.

They played some requests, including Singled Out and That Thing You Do. Definitely an old school NFG show.

They came back out for their encore to Right Where We Left Off, which is probably my favorite song on the new album. It was an all-around great set and a lot of fun. I'm glad they had an off day from the Paramore tour in New Jersey.

It was a quiet drive home with Gratitude and Far on the radio as half of the car was sleeping. Twas a good night.
