After a nice long night of sleep, we woke up at six when it was still dark and headed over to play the top-rated Idlewild course.
The course was set up beautifully with lots of care paid to the upkeep and design of it.
We played the famed hole 15 that is 1001 feet long. It felt like it too. I just kept throwing drives until I finally got close to the basket.
The weather was great for a game and we had a great time playing.
I finished with a plus 8. It's not too bad, the last four holes really screwed up my score. I would love to go back and play this course again.
After we showered, we got back on the road and passed into Indiana.
We went through nondescript parts of Indiana and Illinois, not a memorable part of the trip.
We were able to see the St. Louis skyline from a distance and we drove right into it. We decided to stop and walk around for a bit.
We walked down to the Gateway Arch for some pictures. It's pretty cool, I'd like to go up into it sometime.
We hung around until sunset and then got back on the road, hitting our first little bit of traffic due to a stopped school bus in the middle of the highway.
We decided to get ahead of ourselves a bit and drive longer than we planned.
Eventually we decided to stop at a rest area and sleep for a bit.
This is the path we took today.
It's extremely cold at the rest stop and I can't sleep sitting up in a car.
