Mar 14, 2009

Chuck and Nate met me at my house in the morning and we drove to the Philly disc golf course only to find that they were having a tournament. At this course, it means we can't even play.

A little disappointed, we headed to Sarcone's deli to get sandwiches for later. I got a veggie hoagie which turned out to be amazing. I will return for another of those.

We decided to check out Iron Hill, a course that was recommended to us, in Delaware. It was a bit confusing and hard to figure out which baskets went with which tees. They had concrete pro tees and nice markers but no numbers on the baskets or maps to tell us where to shoot. Also, I'm not sure why I like this picture so much.. it just makes me laugh.

We agreed to cut the game short at hole 6 and head to Lum's Pond where we knew we would enjoy ourselves.

I had a pretty good game. We actually kept score for the first time in a while. It was a nice cool day with no wind so we could play without interference.

Before we left, Nate showed us a disc rainbow.

Shortly after we got back, Katie, Jeff, Sam and I went to Atlantic City. We went to Firewater's first for some drinks.

It was the first time I'd been out with Jeff for some time and AC is always fun.

I got a really good beer, I forget what it's called, but it's Troegs.

It was time for our reservation so we headed down to P.F. Chang's. We ran into Cory with his sister and people for her twenty first birthday.

We got some really good vegetarian foods. It was a nice atmosphere and not too expensive at all. I'm surprised I've never been there.

We had lots of food and good conversations/debates and found another place that we can come back to soon.

It was a good day all around from the disc golf morning to the amazing veggie sandwich to the night out in AC. A nice start to my spring break.

Mar 13, 2009

Lakeside this morning.. no classes for the first four periods so I had nothing much to do. I went to the grocery store on my break to do my food shopping, then went back to watch movies and have the kids play games for the rest of the day.

I went right to the gym after work and got sweaty. It felt good to run for a while.

My dad picked me up a little later and took my grandmom and me to Serafina's for dinner. I got some tasty eggplant parm. It was a giant serving though and I have some left for dinner tomorrow perhaps. After dinner he dropped me off to get my car from my mechanic. It's got all new tires on it now and it runs much better.

I came home for a while until Jeff was done work, then I went to his house so we could watch Numb. It was pretty good. Not a typical funny Matthew Perry movie but I liked it. Fun day tomorrow so I'm gonna get some sleep.

I went to the gym in the morning before I had to go to class. I cut it pretty close but I made it to school on time. Classes were pretty dull, though I got some sushi, an egg roll and a free beer at a gallery opening on my break. That was nice.

After school a little later we made some smoothies of bananas and berries with mango juice before heading to Philly.

This was the first trip to the pretzel factory in quite a while.

Even Jordan enjoyed the soft, warm pretzels. They are great on a cold night like it was.

I came home and put off going to sleep for a while before I realized that I wanted to wake up for work in the morning.

Mar 11, 2009

It was a really nice day outside but this is all I saw this morning. I spent the whole morning working on writing my paper up until I had to go to class. Then, when our Photo critique was postponed, I spent that time finishing my paper. I finally handed it in at 6:30 at the start of my Ethics class.

After class I went to Jeff's to watch Important Things with Demetri Martin. I went for a walk with Ryan after around that area. We went to my dad's dock for a while. It was a really nice night, even though it got a little chilly by the water.

It's too bad I had to spend the day inside but it's almost spring break.

Mar 10, 2009

I went to Lakeside today and was greeted by the police that were there searching for the bomb that was called in this morning. We had to stand outside in the cold for a while and then they let us come in because I guess it was a hoax. Really, who calls in bomb threats these days? Just because Blink 182 got back together doesn't mean everything is coming back.

On top of that, the teacher that I was in for.. was in. She called out for the wrong day so I should have been working for her yesterday, but since I was already there I just helped out in the art room. It was a pretty laid back time. I drank hot tea.

I had Art History, then my Aesthetics class was canceled, giving me more time to look up things for my paper. After some research and a trip to the library, I had something. Once math class was done, Katie and I headed to Philly to Doc Watson's bar.

Chuck and Caitlin met us there to see Me Talk Pretty. They played another awesome set. It made me really want to play a show again. It has been over two months since we played a show and almost as long since we practiced. Next week hopefully...

After their set, we headed off to Maoz for falafel. It was good feed and I like this colorful picture of us.

I'm not good at writing when I have to. Only when I want to.

Mar 9, 2009

I didn't get a job so I went out taking pictures (with my 35mm) for my Photo assignment. We have to take photos relating to home and/or self-portrait. I took this one of my grandparent's house, where the pool used to be when they lived there. It's the only place that was really ever home to me.

I took some other shots because I thought they might be interesting. We used to walk down these tracks from Jimmy's house to the mall or movies and climb on the train cars, jumping from one to the next. It seems so long ago.

Photo class was alright, I made a decent print, though neither of the ones shown above made the cut. Digital Media class was pointless again, but we went to the opening downstairs and I got a bean burrito and a slice of pizza. I ate too much crappy food.. Maybe that's why I couldn't get to sleep at all.

Mar 8, 2009

It was another perfect day outside so I took my bike out of the garage and went for a ride. Great day to just be outside.

I went to Ryan's and we met Nate at the course for a game. We did pretty well, although I almost lost a disc when it seemed to disappear into thin air but was really resting on a tree branch.

I rode home and showered when we were done before Katie came over with falafel and we tried to get some work done on our papers. We really only discovered how much of a pain in the ass our teacher is. I'll be doing a lot of work in the next two days.
