Mar 7, 2009

It was a perfect day out today, temperatures in the 60s, so Chuck and I went to Lum's Pond in Delaware for some disc golf.

It was nice to wear a t-shirt and shorts outside and I was even still a little warm in that.

Chuck got to wear his '08 Jersey for the first official away game of the season. I know.. I know.

The course was a lot of fun. It's one of my favorites that I've played. The only downside is the daily out-of-state admission to get in.

On our way home, we stopped at the Pennsville course and played a quick nine holes. It's a good relaxing course with no elevation change or many obstacles. I just didn't want to go home yet.

A little later, I met Johanna at Milmay Tavern for her birthday celebration. There wasn't a whole lot of celebrating going on while I was there but we got to hang out for a short time.

The rest of the night was spent at Dave's house for his birthday party. They played beer pong while we played Rock Band in the living room. It was fun in its way.

Daylight Savings Time sucks on this end because it's already morning, but at least we'll have some more sunlight for late games.

Another testing day at the Senior High had me watching Monsters, Inc. and the new Indiana Jones movie followed by the Penguin shorts from Madagascar. We didn't leave the auditorium today because the tests went longer than planned. After work, I went shopping then came home with nothing to do really. I looked over some stuff for school since I have midterms this week.

Later, with still nothing to do, I went to the gym for a long time. I was the last one in the cardio room. After they closed, I came home and ran some more around the neighborhood since it was so nice out.

I went to Jimmy's and watched a pretty bad movie with him and Nate. It was a romantic comedy/action/mob/double agent/accidental comedy film. With Viggo Mortensen. Don't watch it.

I had a job at the Senior High today. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was a testing day, so I had a half day. I was in the auditorium, not even proctoring a test. We watched both Madagascar movies before going to the classroom for a while, where we watched Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a hard day.

I wasn't feeling class this afternoon, so I skipped. I went out and played some disc golf for a short time. After getting my feet wet and almost losing a disc, I quit.

I went up to Rowan for my math class after the security job I was supposed to work was canceled. Our professor wasn't there but he got a substitute. That is a terrible idea because the guy was trying to teach things and he was not being clear at all. Our prof is going to have to go over it all again when he is back. I came home and watched The Office and now it feels much later than it is, probably because I didn't sleep much last night.

Mar 4, 2009

I worked at Lakeside in the morning as a Math teacher. It was an inclusion class so I didn't really have much that I could do. The Smart Board was pretty awesome to check out though.

I had to go to CCC to make up the final I skipped in December to go to New York. It was horribly easy.

I had Photo class later, where I took a picture of this bug that was on the wall. We went to a gallery opening and had a good amount of wine before going to Moral Problems. It made the class interesting but it seemed longer.

I am tired. I don't feel like doing anything tomorrow but I have work in the morning time.

Public school was canceled again today so I couldn't work. I was running late to my first class anyway because I had to mail the tickets I sold on eBay before I left. I didn't miss much though.. just some Art History.

My Aesthetics class was cut short, giving me even more time to do things on my long break, like take pictures. It was nice to walk around and see snow everywhere. It made the campus look new.

After my last class, I came down to Bennigan's to meet Carolyn, Adam, Chuck and Caitlin for Quizzo. I wasn't going to have any beers but I did. Only two.

It was a smaller game of Quizzo than we're used to. We placed fifth, but it turns out I know The Village People better than I thought and we didn't remember that King Friday was the king on Mr. Rogers. We hung out for a while after trivia and talked ideas for the summer.

It feels like it was a long day. I'm gonna get some sleep, I already have a job for tomorrow.

Mar 2, 2009

To celebrate our snow day off of work and school, we met up at the disc golf course and started playing a game. That quickly turned to just playing in the snow.

We had a diving for distance contest.

We all just ended up wet with snow but it was a lot of fun.

No winner was announced, we just wanted an excuse to get in the snow.

It was such a relaxing day out. After this hole, Ryan and Nate had enough and went to get breakfast.

Katie wanted to leave too, but I was her ride so she stuck it out with me and Jeff.

We played about eleven holes in total, skipping a few along the way.

It was pretty difficult to walk around in ten inches (or more) of snow all around the woods.

We got the urge to play in the snow more on the back of the course. I tumbled down the hill on hole fifteen.

Jeff slid. We finished up the game at hole sixteen and headed back to the car.

Nate, Katie and I went to Peking Tokyo for sushi and hot green tea. I was extremely hungry by then so it was awesome. Once we got warmed up, we headed back out.

We went down to Schooner Landing Road and sledded on the hills by the overpass.

The hills were great there. We could go quite fast if there were no obstacles.

We had three sleds to share with the seven of us. Carissa and Sam joined us for this part of the day.

There was a ramp, so we tried to hit it and then stand up after the jump.

We got close, but this was the usual result.

I tried a few time as well but never ended up doing it.

I busted my lip at one point but it was all in good fun, some of the sleds were better than other too.

At one point, we decided to put all three sleds together and pile everyone on them to go down with linked arms. This is our second, and much better, attempt. It worked out well. Nathan was laid across all of us.

We ended up hitting this tree dead center, so our middle sled stayed where it was and the two on the outside split in either direction, sending Nathan flying and Ryan into an uncontrolled fit of laughter. It was hilarious and fun.

You'll have to click on this one to see it, but I jumped over Ryan as he came straight at me.

Then he did the same to me. After a few more runs, we headed home, exhausted.

We picked up Jordan and went to Shop Rite for food, then met at Sam's house to make it. We got Mickey Mouse shaped pizzas. They were tasty.

Chuck came and joined us for a few hours of playing Street Fighter IV on Playstation/watching pieces of Point Break and Family Guy.

It has been an awesome snow day. One of the best on record for me. No work tomorrow, as Millville has already cancelled school, but I doubt Rowan will cancel again...

Mar 1, 2009

I was going to go out this morning and play a game of disc golf, but it was pretty cold so I stayed home and played bass for a couple hours until Ryan called me to come over. We played a game he downloaded for XBox called Castle Crashers. It's a new game but it's in the style of old games with side-scrolling action. It's a lot of fun.

I went over to Katie's after so she could dye my hair and trim it a little more. She did good on the dye job.. still waiting to decide about the cut.

After I got there it started snowing and kept snowing and snowing until it was piled a good five inches. It continued snowing after this picture and is still snowing right now. We went to Ryan's to assist/watch him have Bowser (his dog) pull him while he was on skis. It worked for a while, I ran ahead and he chased me, pulling Ryan behind.

That was fun to watch. I just played a game of Risk with him online and now I think it's time for bed. Snow day tomorrow!
