Day two of the math class wasn't too bad. It was a Friday so a lot of students didn't want to do their easy-as-can-be worksheets since it was so early in the school year. It was mostly all review work for them to keep them busy until their teacher comes back.

I relaxed for a bit after work and then went up to Rowan for their Win In in a Minute thing at After Hours. I had never seen the show, but basically people have to play mini games in a minute to win money. This one girl kicked ass at all of the challenges. It was amazing. She had to wrap herself in toilet paper and pick up bags with her teeth that were on the ground without anything but her feet touching the floor. It was impressive.

Joanna got called up and she had to stack reams of paper and knock them down, which she did without a problem. She next had to unwrap two toilet paper rolls with her arms without breaking it. She did that well also. The third thing was to knock down a stack of cans by flicking rubber bands at them. She couldn't do that, though she did get really close. Either way she won something!

Shortly after the game ended Ryan called to let me know he was there to pick me up and we headed up to Allentown to our motel. We got there a lot later than we hoped and of course we couldn't get right to sleep. We were psyched for the Spartan Race in the morning.

I worked at an elementary school covering meetings during the day. The classes were all surprisingly good, and sadly we didn't watch this video. The day went by pretty quickly.

On my break and after work I started working on another piece for my show. It's coming together well.

I went to Joanna's to take some photos in her building and her room. After setting up a few shots and talking for a while we headed to Westby.

There Rowan Gallery was having an opening so we went to listen to the guy who put the show together talk about the artists' work. Some of it was pretty interesting but I didn't get to look at a lot while we were there.

We went into the studio and set up the lighting to take some shots for something I'm working on. Some of the light units weren't there so I couldn't get exactly what I wanted but I got a few that could work.

I started trying to work on a clay piece but I decided to wait until I had more materials. Instead, I made up a title card for the show. I like the way it came out, though I might make some minor changes.

I went to Rowan After Hours to talk to talk to Joanna and show her the design. I stayed there for most of the night, watching people fight on the inflatable thing and getting mac and cheese when it came out.

I went to Shannon's for a short time to talk to her until Joanna was done work, then I went to her place to talk for a while. Then I came home.

Though not the original destination planned, Heather and I ended up going to Dingman's Falls. We stopped at Bushkill but decided to not pay to hike around and continued down the road.

The first set of falls was pretty close so we walked down to it. It was a really nice little area with a lot of people standing to look. The waterfall was peaceful though.

We went up the road to another set of falls, where we walk around for a while. We walked up the stream a bit and I almost fell in trying to take pictures. It's okay though, I didn't. The whole stream area was really nice.

Can you see the frog? While walking up a path to an overlook, this guy surprised me and jumped out onto the path and then right onto my boot!

The overlook was nice. It's called the Tri-State Overlook and I'm assuming you can see New York on clear days. The view was pretty good though, overlooking the Delaware River and New Jersey.

The next trail was the first thing close to a real hiking trail we had been on all day. It crossed over a few roads and had some detours around fallen trees.

This lake was probably the nicest sight of the day. The reflections were great as the trees are just starting to change color.

The rest of the trail got a little more fun and steep in some places but never anything very challenging. It also ended much sooner than I expected since it was supposed to be a 3-mile trail with an overlook and waterfall, neither of which did we see. Oh well. It was getting dark anyway so we headed out.

Chuck came to Rowan After Hours for the comedy show. The opener was pretty funny and Chuck had given him directions to the student center.

Ben Bailey (the guy from Cash Cab...) was the main event. He was funny as well. In an awkward way most of the time. About half of his set revolved around being "the Cash Cab guy" and references to the show. He made me laugh though. We got mac and cheese from the food bar after the show and then headed to the party.

We got to Alex's, where we were immediately prompted with the question "What are you guys supposed to be?" We were at a loss until we were informed that it was an "S Party" which meant we were supposed to dress as something starting with "s." I did not get the memo. Anyway, throughout the night I was "sober" or a "significant other" with Chuck. So there.

Alex was a "spy," NOT "Smith, Will" from Men In Black as you might have first thought. Look at that Noisy Cricket though.. I'm still not sure.

After the standing around and drinking part of the night had us down to about eight people in the house we decided to play Kings or Circle of Death depending on who you asked. In any case, it was fun once I learned all the rules. Drinking games are generally all the same. I never know if someone is winning or losing because they have to drink.

We hung around talking for a while after the game ended and called it a night around 4am.

I had an English class at Memorial in the morning. They were all pretty good classes and they did the work that was left for them. It's always a nice change to have those students. After work I went up to finally get my title for my car. They actually had it this time so I'm happy to be done with them forever. Don't think of buying a vehicle at Longo's.

We talked about exactly two pieces in Modern Art. Somehow we got off topic so often that we couldn't get any real work done. We showed our finished posters in Graphic Design. I didn't change much on mine but I made a good argument for it I think.

During class, the 207 opening was going on. It was a photo opening with images of wounds and guts from various sources, including bodies from a morgue. The graphic images didn't bother me at all but the one of the dentist with his scraping tool did.

Brian and I went to After Hours to the Asian festival because we heard there would be bubble tea and possibly noodles. We were there for a while but found out that the stuff we wanted wouldn't be there for a few hours.

After watching some of the dancing we decided to head out and not wait hours for bubble tea. I went home to try to call it an early night.

Ryan and I got up early and drove to Tyler State Park for our second Johnny Boge Classic disc golf tournament.

We met Stu, our other player, and took the long walk to our first hole. The game ran pretty smoothly except that we had to wait for the group in front of us on a few holes.

I was all over the place as far as my shots. I had a few really good shots, like this one where I scored a two, and some very poor shots. I had no consistency. I ended out the round with a 90, which is just a few over par so not too bad. We took a much needed lunch break in the car and then threw some discs around until it was time for round two.

I was placed with two other AM2 players for the second round, Todd and Tim. They were nice guys so the round went pretty quick. Unfortunately, I didn't do great. I improved on a few but mostly I did a little worse. The out of bounds hurt me.

I finished with a 64 for a grand total of 154 overall. It could have been much better but it's a six stroke improvement from last year and I tied for fourth place, earning me a Pro Wraith. It was definitely fun and hopefully we'll be able to play some more tournaments this year.

Once I had a chance to go home and clean up I met the guys at Rowan for the battle of the bands to find out who would open the big show in Spring.

We played third and we hadn't practiced so we really didn't know what to expect when we got up there but everything just seemed to come together.

I think we played really well and we all had a great time. The band that played after us was really good as well and they ended up winning the battle. I thought we had a chance at one point but I wasn't upset about the decision at all and I think we all left with smiles on our faces after our performance.

It was a long and tiring day but I had a great time with everything. Sleep is my next reward.

I substituted for a math teacher at Lakeside in the morning. I always like the math classes because I can actually do something. I went around helping kids with their problems and I feel like I actually teach them things sometimes. It also helps pass the time.

I brought the car I was interested in to a mechanic and was told that it was probably a bad deal because it was in an accident. The search continues. I had Modern Art and then in Graphic Design we critiqued our logo designs.

Once we finally got to take a break, I went down to 207 to Steph's senior show to shoot the gallery opening and have some food. The pictures are beautifully but they are intentionally distorted by car headlights to express how we as a country tend to see the natural wonders. We see them in photos or from car windows without ever using our other senses. It is intended to inspire people to get out there and see these things for themselves. Experience it!

I went to Rowan After Hours for a bit after class. Mary Kay had a personality test things where you put on lipstick, kiss a paper and learn about yourself. It turns out I'm very adventurous and in touch with my femininity. True story. I was also given a free chap stick that is apparently worth fourteen dollars.

I went to Katie's to work on some design things for a while. I was helping somehow, I'm just not sure exactly what I did besides eat a vegan bologna sandwich.

I awoke to a mysterious text about a gallery meeting at Westby so I gather some photos to bring with me and went there. We were just going over all the submissions and figuring out which would make it into the publication so I knew what pieces I had to photograph. We didn't get a lot done but we plan to finish later this week.

I was starving after the meeting since I hadn't eaten anything so we went and got a stuffed crust pizza loaded up with veggie toppings. It was delicious. After we ate, we worked on applications and homework before Joanna went to work.

I went to After Hours for a while and watched an acapella group do their covers of popular songs. They were called Blue Jupiter. They were pretty good from what I saw.

We spent the next hour or so playing games like Guess Who and Trivia for Dummies, which really doesn't exaggerate with its name. We got veggie subs and then I headed back.

I watched some Weeds and did some writing when I got back. Now it's time to sleep before the trip tomorrow...
