I didn't take a job in the morning, even though I should have, so I went to the morning Modern Art class. Hottle went off on the class (in his own, quiet way) about how badly they were doing and how disappointed he was in the tests. After he finished with that, we got into the lesson and learned. I always enjoy that class.

I worked on some graphic design things for a while at Westby and then hung out without getting much done until the Off-Campus meeting in the afternoon. I could actually make it since I went to the early class. We discussed some upcoming events, elections and how the recent trips went. After the regular meeting I talked to Shana about how things get done in case I get the job.

In Graphic Design, we worked on our next type projects for most of the class and briefly started sketching things for our next project toward the end. I still haven't handed in the first assignment. I wonder if/when she'll address that.

I went to After Hours for a while until it was time to board the bus and go to Atlantic City for Alice in Wonderland. We got to the casino with a little time to spare and then I led everyone from the bus to the IMAX. The gnome came as well, of course.

We actually found decent seats all the way at the top and got in them before the lights went out. We had to wear these crazy glasses for the movie since it was in 3D but it was actually really cool once you got used to it. This was my first full-3D movie. I didn't mind it as much as I thought I might. The movie was really good as well.

The ride home seemed somewhat long. Katie fell asleep along with most of the other people on the bus but it was kind of peaceful. I had a job for the morning but since I got home after 4am I canceled it.

We all met up at the buses near the Student Center early in the morning in preparation for our ski trip. After loading up the bus and waiting for a few last minute inspections, we left only about twenty minutes late.

Once we all suited up, booted up and found a locker (finally,) we got out on the slopes. It was Joanna's first time ever skiing and she did really well. She picked it up pretty quickly. Maybe I'm just that good at teaching?

We had to bring the gnome along as well to ride the lift up with us. He stayed in my pocket after that.

I took Joanna on a blue trail for her second run since she did so well on the first one. She did just as well on that one.

Josh snowboards in jeans. He doesn't just sit in the center of the trail, he relaxes.

Mike and I did a more difficult trail together but the conditions weren't great so it wasn't as fun. Turning tightly over moguls isn't as easy with a hurt ankle either.

It was Laura's first time skiing as well. She seemed to be doing pretty well also and having fun. We spent a lot of our time over on Paradise. There were a lot of people there so wherever we went was crowded.

We all managed to stay together most of the day. We took a break in the afternoon to get lunch at the lodge. We had the veggie sandwiches left over from the night before and it was nice to take a break and make some videos in the cafeteria.

We went back out for quite a while. It started snowing/raining a little bit toward the end of the night and got much colder. We stayed out until we had to meet up at the bus though. We got a good long day of skiing out of it. The sky looked really nice at the end of the day as well.

We got back on the bus and had to wait for people who took their time getting back. We stopped at a rest stop for food on the way back and had a good ride home. It was a long fun day and I was exhausted after. I need to go more before the season is over.

I covered classes for meetings at Lakeside in the morning. It was declared a half day because of the "impending snow storm" that never came. It snowed a bit in the morning but it was clear for the rest of the day. I was out of there by noon. Not a bad day of work. I went home and took a nice long nap.

After napping I went to Katie's for tea. I don't drink tea enough. The snow had started coming down a lot harder and it looked really awesome outside.

I went up to Rowan After Hours and jumped right in to decorate my cake.

I decorated it poorly but this was how it turned out. I like it but I didn't spend that much time on it. I left it in the office for people to eat if they wanted to.

I got my gnome's picture with the fake snake since I missed the real things. I didn't know the guy would be leaving early or I would have come earlier. I still got my photo so it worked out for that at least.

Christina and I spent the next while in the game room playing air hockey, foozball and skee ball. We wasted quite a bit of time in there until it was time for the raffle, in which I won a Subway gift card.

I made a sandwich with a biscuit, onions, pickles and cheese. I had to be resourceful with the chicken and biscuits they were offering.

It was a pretty good night and we got back late. Had to get to sleep in case I had to wake up early.

I came home in the morning to shovel out some of the driveway. It only kinda worked, as I got stuck again for a short time.

Katie came over and we went back to Rowan to catch the bus for Cheesesteakin' Me to Philly (proof that I didn't come up with that above). We got there just in time for the bus, grabbed our front seat and headed to South Street.

We got what they call the "Meatless" sandwich, which is just that. They put mushrooms, peppers, onions, lettuce and tomato on a roll (with cheese if you so desire) and that's it. I don't know what I was expecting.

I thought it was pretty good for what it was, Katie did not enjoy hers. To be fair though, I got cheese sauce on mine and that made it much better I'm sure. I haven't been to Jim's Steaks in forever (obviously) and the upstairs area reminded me of sitting up there watching it snow a long time ago.

This was the first event (that wasn't snowed out) for the roaming gnome game/competition/whatever. The point is to take the gnome that is provided, decorate him, take him to Rowan events and photograph him creatively while solving short riddles to earn points each month for the chance to win gift cards and prizes. Sounds like fun to me.

The "riddle" led me to the wall of celebrities who ate at Jim's and left signed photos to hang up. I figured the gnome might like to give his two cents as well so this is what I did.

After eating we went down the street to the TLA where I picked up some tickets and then stopped at Mako's bar for dollar drinks. They have quite the daily specials at that place. Haven't been there in a long time.

What's more is that they offer games! Our bartender gave us Connect 4 to play. It turns out I'm really bad at it. I don't know why I can't concentrate well enough to play that game. I'd rather play chess.

When I got home I continued to shovel the driveway until Ryan and Carissa came over to go sledding. We went back to the overpass we went to last year.

It was nothing but ice on the one side and I quickly fell off of my sled and on my side. After a few times down we got the hang of it.

Going down face first seemed to be much easier to control and I didn't flip off. There were a few kids there that we had to wait for but it was mostly empty.

Of course, Ryan and I had a race where we sledded to the bottom of the hill, rounded the tree on foot and raced back to the top of the hill. Ryan won the first time and we tied the second. Running in snow uphill is extremely exhausting. I need to exercise more.

I came home and cleaned up a little before people started coming over for game night. Carolyn, Katie, Ryan and Carissa came first and we played something of a game of Cranium. It seems like every time I play that game I'm still trying to figure out some of the rules. Tracy, Mike and Christie showed up shortly thereafter and we started a new game. There were some frustrating humming clues that I could not get and some hilarious acting out clues that we all had fun with.

We played that for a couple of hours until it got late and everyone was ready to go home. I thought we might have time for more games but we didn't. It was a lot of fun having everyone over though. Something we need to do more often. Everyone left a bunch of junk food, come help eat it!
