I got a job at Lakeside in the morning as an English teacher. It wasn't too bad, but the last period I had to cover for a gym teacher. The kids were playing bombardment, just hurling balls past my head. It wasn't pleasant. I came home and packed most of my stuff for the weekend before heading to alternative school for a short time to sub for a computer teacher. I was there for two hours and had one student.Thursday, February 5, 2009

It was a beautiful, snowy morning with a bright blue sky so I wanted to be outside. Nate suggested snow golf and I was all for it. The course looked great covered in white.
We played the first half of the course and then Ryan joined us for the back half. I almost lost my Wolf on hole two, but Ryan aided in the search and rescue efforts that led to its retrieval. It was fun playing our course in deeper snow, since we actually knew where all the tees and pins were, we didn't need footprints to follow. After some snowball throwing and shuffleboard on the iced over pond, we parted ways. Katie and I tried to find something to use as a sled... even a sled.. but we couldn't find anything. Maybe next time.
After we got changed, we picked up Tracy and headed up Philly for happy hour. We went to Manny Brown's for some drinks and Sam met us there shortly thereafter.
We set up our end zone coasters but never used them. We had a great time talking about school and work and everything. It's been a while since we'd seen Sam.
We moved on to Gianna's after the bar. We all got vegan pizza and it was delicious. I had one with grilled veggies on it that was amazing. Much better than their cheesesteak, I must say.
Sam had to head home after pizza, but we went to Yakitori Boy again for a Blue Moon and more mochi ice cream. They had green tea this time! I was excited about that but I actually liked the strawberry better.
We drove home over a sheet of ice on Race Street and past the exit on 55 and Tracy gave me my awesome birthday/Christmas presents when we got back to her car: a bag of Zagnuts (they used to be my favorite candy of all time, and I guess they still are!), an Augusten Burroughs book that I haven't read yet, and a t-shirt that I will show off later! She's good at gifts. Katie and I watched some of Trainspotting before I got really tired and decided to head home. All that beer makes me sleepy.Tuesday, February 3, 2009

I worked a half day at Lakeside this morning where it started snowing early but nothing was sticking really. It was the same class I had yesterday and it went by quickly.
At Rowan, it was snowing even harder when I got there. I got my first actual Rowan ID to use for school events and then I had a few classes. The snow finally started sticking before my calculus class. When I got out it was piled high. I had to sweep off my car with a water bottle because I don't have a scraper.
The drive home was very slow, as the highway was not good. I saw at least three accidents on the way. I met Katie at Peking Tokyo and took some pictures in the parking area.
We got eggplant sushi. It's the best, even better than spicy tuna. And cheaper. It's my new favorite.
After dinner, I went for a walk down by the river and got some amazing shots of the riverwalk and the Buck Street area.Monday, February 2, 2009

I got a call this morning to work at Lakeside. We watched Cinderella. I watched it three times. It's a good movie. I had to leave before the end of the day to make it up to class on time.
We had photo class and then some free time so we scanned our things for the Digital Media class early and then took off from that class early because I guess that's all they were doing for the three hours.Sunday, February 1, 2009

This was the scene for most of the course today but the weather was perfect. It was almost t-shirt weather. I went out there with Ryan and Nate to enjoy a fun, though windy, game of disc golf. Ryan and Nate tried to perfect the roll technique while I tried to keep my score low, unsuccessfully even with three deuces for the day.
