After doing a few things at home I went to Ocean City to meet Ryan at his family's beach house. We went down to the water first and ran headfirst into the frigid water!

Doing it all at once made it pretty easy to get in. I think if I walked in I wouldn't have made it past my knees. There was no doubt that it was cold though.

We stood in the water for a while, fighting the waves. It would have been a good day for surfing. We basically just stood in the water and talked while jumping waves until we decided that we had been in long enough.

We took a walk down the very crowded beach which was also littered with broken shells, making it difficult to walk with bare feet.

After changing into regular clothes, we played shuffleboard at the club. We had a few good games. It seemed odd since the last time I played the boat was rocking and the discs didn't slide like I expected.

After a walk down the boardwalk and a stop at the arcade to be ripped off and then settle for pinball and air hockey, we went back to the house to relax and watch the History Channel's Presidents series for a bit. We decided to play some tennis since the weather was perfect for it. We played on the turf courts, which were different in a few ways from the cement courts we usually play. The ball didn't bounce as high or far and the footing was a little precarious at times. The game was good though. It seemed like we hadn't played in quite a while.

When I got back home, Jimmy and Josh came over to unload Jimmy's things from a trailer. It wasn't too much trouble besides a few items that we had to twist around to get up the stairs.

Jimmy got his things set up and made his room seem like home to spend his first night here. Sketch seemed to take an immediate liking to the house and made himself comfortable as well.

Sometime after midnight I went for a run around the neighborhood. Nights like these are great and I hate to waste them sitting inside.

I took advantage of the cooks and had this guy make me an omelet. He looks really happy about it. The omelet was tasty and full of vegetables. I've eaten a lot of eggs lately.

The dock area in Kona is too shallow for our boat to dock so we had to anchor offshore and take these little tenders back to the shore. It was inconvenient and hot but it worked.

I found an internet cafe in the town shopping area that granted me unlimited internet if I made a purchase. That was an easy decision since I've been paying for it at Starbucks.

I spent most of the morning in the little cafe area. The sun didn't come out too much so it was shady and comfortable as I updated things, caught up on some shows and had a smoothie and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

After I was finished online I walked around the shopping area a bit and then along the shore before I decided to return to the boat. We were leaving a little earlier today so I had to be back in the afternoon.

We went to the art show and auction on the boat. It was legit, with originals by Matisse, Miro, Dali, Picasso and Rembrandt. There were a lot of well-known artists on display.

Since the prices were in the thousands, I didn't even consider raising my little number to bid on anything, but I did enjoy my time learning a little bit about some of the pieces and wondering why the woman kept running her fingers all over these original pieces of art. I also enjoyed the free champagne. It may have been the rocking of the boat but I felt it after my second little glass.. I'm a lightweight.

Art auctions make me hungry so we got some food and then finally checked out the shuffleboard court that we noticed the first day on the boat. It was a little difficult with the ship rocking back and forth as I tried to aim but it was fun nonetheless.

We played a few games of chess after the shuffleboard games. It's been a while since I've played but I'd like to get back into it.

I spent some time reading my book before I decided it was time to get some sleep for the night.

I think this was and will be our longest trip on the boat since we had to travel past all the islands we've already visited to get up to Kauai. Probably a couple hundred miles.

Katie and I left in the morning for Ocean City to take surf lessons at 7th Street Surf Shop. Well, the lessons were on the beach with this guy. He was a really funny guy and a good teacher. We learned the proper way to stand and paddle on the beach before heading into the water to try it for real.

It's harder than it seems but I got up once! Yeah, only once during our lesson but I plan on going back to try again. It was a lot of fun anyway but it was hard to figure out when to take a wave. Maybe with some practice I'll get better.

We stopped by to play some shuffleboard on the way out. We played two games. I feel like I'm starting again every time I play. I won once, though...

Later, we went to Yakitori Boy for Chuck's birthday. He opened some gifts and we had plenty of sushi. Katie and I split the Spider Roll. So good.. I had a few beers too.

For dessert, we had some cupcakes made specially for Chuck by Sam. How nice..

We stayed and talked there for an hour or so after we were done eating and then wandered out. We took this picture on Arch St. walking back to the car... looking at it now, it looks like it could be a promo picture for a new USA show.

We went home and Katie had to pack for her trip to North Carolina so I took a nap on the couch for a couple of hours. After she was finally done packing we made some sandwiches and I took her to the airport. The sun was coming up on my way back and the city silhouette looked awesome.

I got home around 6:30 and happily went to bed.
