I went to the gym with Ryan in the morning and tried to avoid doing much leg exercise after last night's game. This machine looks like a frog sticking its tongue out.

Katie picked me up to head to Philly, where I got falafel for lunch while she shopped for hair products, then we went to the North Star Bar for a show.

I like things that make me laugh out loud.

The first band to take the stage was Troubadour. They were fun and melodic. Piano driven but still rockin'.

We got our hands stamped so we could go to the bar area where it was air conditioned. It felt great in there after the stage area.

I had a Kenzinger while I waited for the next band. It felt strange being at a show in the middle of the day.

O'Brother was the next band up. They were a lot harder and louder than I expected for this tour. I wasn't really into them but some of their songs were decent. We watched from the balcony and it was a little cooler up there.

Deas Vail came out after a short wait. They were great again. It was even more enjoyable this time since I know their songs. They have a good stage presence as well. I wish there were more people into them. It was a very small crowd overall.

We planned to go to a movie but decided to come back on a day when it wouldn't be as crowded. I picked up Shannon later and went to Ocean City to Corson's Inlet. That was all I could think of.

We walked around on the beach a bit and talked. I tried to figure out what the lights in the distance were. It turns out there's a bridge down there and the flashing lights were just cars crossing it.

We watched some 30 Rock back at her house for a while until I got really tired and came home. Twas a good day.

I met Katie and Ryan at Bagel University for lunch. I had a tasty veggie sandwich on a bagel and we tried to plan skiing and disc golf trips.

I took at short job at Alternative School, where I worked for three hours with a maximum of three students in a class at a time. Not too bad at all.

Katie and I went up to Rowan where we met Joanna and took the shuttle bus from school to South Street and got there just as Deas Vail was going on. They were great just as they were the last time I saw them.

Person L came on next. I just can't really get into them. I don't know if it was the atmosphere or what. I like some of the recordings but when I see Kenny, I just want him to play Starting Line songs.

Ace Enders came out next with I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business. It was cool to hear some songs I haven't heard in a really long time and he played some new songs from the CD that is coming out in a few weeks that sounded pretty good too. Early November reunion, please!?

Copeland took the stage for the last time in Philly on their farewell tour and played a slew of great songs from all of their albums. They broke out some great older songs that I really hoped they would play. It was a great set, I wish I got tickets to more than one show.

We waited for a few minutes after to talk to Aaron and get a photo. He's a really nice guy and always wants to talk to fans after the show. I hope he'll do more music stuff in the future.

I grabbed a veggie steak down the street before we headed back to get our bus. When we got there (before 12, when it was supposed to leave) we saw it just starting to round the corner. I made eye contact with the bus driver, who talked to me before we left Rowan, and she continued driving away. I figured she was rounding the block but she ended up never coming back. Joanna called Monica, who couldn't get in contact with the bus driver and had to come pick us up herself.

It was a bittersweet show, a bitter cold night and a bit of an adventure as always. Good night.

I went for a bike ride in the morning. It was hot but I want to get ready to do a long ride before summer is over. Katie and I went up to Turnersville to see a movie but we got there late, so we had to wait for the next show. We went to the shopping plaza for a short time and then to a nearby bar with great specials. After a few beers and a phone call to Moe's, we went to get food.

I got a burrito to enjoy during the movie and Katie got a taco. The signs announcing this newly opened Moe's are poorly placed.

We saw 500 Days of Summer and it was awesome. I want to see it again already. I think it could become one of my favorite movies.

After the movie, we went to a church show up in that area where Deas Vail was playing. They were really good, I had never even heard their music before.

All the bands that played were good, especially Deas Vail and Abel. The people in the bands were really friendly and I talked to the bassist from Deas Vail about disc golf because they had stickers and a frisbee at their table. It turns out they play all the time as they tour.

In conclusion, you should listen to Deas Vail and ask me to go for a bike ride with you.
