It was a great, steep hike up the mountain and the view was well worth it. This is the Canyon Vista view.
I was admiring the view, Chuck was dreading the walk back down and Jeff was worrying about falling over the edge.
The walk down was steeper than the way up in some places, and there were quite a few spots where we had to hike back up some steep areas.
After a short while down, it started to rain a little bit. It wasn't much at first, but it got harder and we got very wet quickly. It was a pretty long walk down in the rain. It was slippery and I was trying to protect my camera bag from the water as well as guide Chuck through the slippery sections since he was wearing skate shoes. We made it down alive, however soaked we were.
It hadn't rained at our camp when we got back so we made a fire and roasted hot dogs. Again, these were the best hot dogs ever, probably due to not eating since breakfast and being famished from the hike.
It started raining pretty hard toward the end of our dinner, so we retreated to our tents. Jeff and Sam came over to our tent and we made some room to play rummy in the middle.
Chuck and I worked on writing the script for the first episode of our web show. We got quite a bit done. Once it stopped raining, we went out and got a fire started. The first one died, so I started another and this one grew big.
We stayed out pretty late with the fire burning, talking about things and playing with the poking stick. At one point I tried to pick up the skewer rod i was using to poke the logs and burnt my fingers pretty good. Once we finished laughing at that, we put the fire out. Jeff and Sam woke up just in time to see us put it out, then we all went to bed.
