Jun 28, 2008

We woke up in the morning and got ready to go, but not before I got a Whispering Pines photo in the bathroom.

We went to Kozy Korner for breakfast before heading out to Rickett's Glen. The food was really good, even if it was just breakfast.

I started taking pictures as soon as we got to the stream area, of course. I was in store for much more ahead, however.

Jeff and Chuck were also in store for much more, but didn't realize it either..

This was the first bigger waterfall we encountered.

I had to take some pictures and then get out of the other people's way.

There were a lot of waterfalls. Sam and Jeff played in some of them.

There was a lot of steep climbing involved. Many of the areas had steps, but some were just trails and rocks.

This is a nice picture of us on a rock in the middle of the stream.

Sam had to stop for a while at Mr. Reynolds' waterfall.

Since we could get behind this waterfall, we did.

It was a nice one anyway.

Sam and I climbed up to the top of this one. I'm actually washing a bunch of tiny spiders off of me in this picture, not just touching the falls to be cool. They stayed on me for a while after this too.

We saw almost all of the falls on this map, we did the whole blue loop with the exception of one waterfall that was far out of the way.

This was the tallest waterfall on the trail, Ganoga. It was tall, but the area where we're standing was crowded for quite a while. I had to hurry while no one was around to get a picture.

There were a few small falls after the big guy, but not many of note. On the trail back, I found some rocks to climb. It was fun climbing up and Sam got a shot of me at the top.

Jeff was exhausted after the hike. Hey, the warning says to make sure you're in good physical condition.

We came home and made dinner or lunch. We got food at the local grocery store and made grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches. They were really good. I'm sure that was part because of the long hike and hunger but the pepper jack cheese helped too I think.

We hung out around the campfire for a while and let it die down until it got darker out.

We started it up again in a little while and had s'mores. I only had one with chocolate because it hurt my teeth. I made one with just a marshmallow, then I just ate some graham crackers.

I went and got me a shower after we put the fire out and came back to the tent to fall asleep watching Arrested Development.

I worked for a short time in the morning, then met Jess at Chow's for lunch buffet. It seems like it's been a while since I had it so it was good.

I met Jeff and Sam but we realized all of our stuff wouldn't fit in Sam's car, so Chuck came over and graciously agreed to let us take his car. We packed all of our things in the car and headed out. We had to make a few stops before leaving. We got food at Wawa and ate it while Jeff and Sam looked for a tarp at Dick's. I stopped at Staples to say hi to Casie. We dropped off at movie in Glassboro and Chuck got out to Rain-x his windows while we sat inside.

After a long drive up the PA Turnpike, we found our campground. One of the owners led us to our site in his golf cart and gave us some firewood.

We got our tents set up, along with the rain guards since it was pouring before we left town.

I had never used this tent before but it's giant. It even had a divider cloth so Chuck and I had separate rooms.

We got a fire started and sat around talking and singing along to Chuck's guitar playing.

We made some plans about what to do the next day and then got ready for bed and put the fire out.

I'm glad I bought a cot last year so I didn't have to worry about sleeping on the ground at all.

I met Katie at her house around noon and made raspberry mango something smoothies. I love making smoothies. We took them to go.

We had to stop at Rowan for some information, then we went to Barnes and Noble before heading into Philly to Whole Foods.

Katie got her non-meat products and we got some vegan food from the hot bar for lunch. It was all really good, the chicken tasted like chicken. It's a nice view from the roof of the parking garage too.

When I got back from the city I met my dad at the disc golf course for a game. It was his first time but he did really well. He scored a +4 which is much better than I ever did my first few times!

I took him to Chili's after the game for dinner. It was his Father's Day gift, a little late since we couldn't get together before this.

I went up to Maureen's after I showered and we headed over to Sharky's, a bar near the movie theater we planned to go to. It was pretty dead and the beer was old and somewhat overpriced, but it was somewhere to hang out while we waited. We did get a free beer because the ones we got upstairs were bad though. Once my songs were finished playing we left.

We posed with the star of the movie before we went in to see it.

I really liked it. It was really well done and different. You really fall in love with this CGI animated character. The story is really good as well; well-written without much dialogue.

I would like to see it again actually.

I had to work in the morning for a while, same old boring stuff going on there.

Ryan and I played a game of golf after work.

Katie and I hung out at night. It was a really nice night so we stayed outside, walked around and took a drive with the windows down.

It always feels nice going to bed when it's nice and cool.

I worked in the morning for a few hours, then I met Ryan at the course for a game. On the second hole, I hit a hole in two from this crazy distance! It was awesome! Lots of luck.

After golf, I went to Jeff's for band practice. We played a new cover and worked on our other songs for a bit. It's coming along well.

After practice we sat around and played cards for a while with Jimmy. A productive day.

Jun 23, 2008

We got up early in the morning and met up at Jimmy and Jeff's house. We piled in the car and headed to Baltimore. When we got to the area, we stopped at Golden Corral for lunch. Most of us ate too much, then we finished the half hour drive to the Inner Harbor.

We found a cheap garage very quickly and posed near James Bond's parking spot.

Once we found our way into the National Aquarium we walked around all the different levels. We saw the sharks, giant turtles, et cetera.

The whole place was nicely set up, but disappointing in general. We were all somewhat disappointed but we had a good time hanging out and I got some decent pictures of fish.

While we were looking out the windows at the aquarium, we saw the dragon paddle boats on the harbor and decided we should go do it.

It was nice out on the water. Diebra and Tracy got to relax in the back while Jimmy and I peddled.

Jeff stayed ashore and took pictures of us while talking on the phone.

We peddled backward too and backed up to our dock when we were done.

Tracy, Jeff and I walked up to the top of the hill over the harbor to check out the view. It was nice, but I already have plenty of pictures from up there.

I wanted a smoothie all day (like most days) so we tracked down a place that sold them and we all got one. It was really good, not the best I've ever had but it was much better than water ice!

We went down to Ram's Head Live! for the show and picked up our Will Call tickets then went back to the bar next door and got some beers. We ordered our bucket of Bud Lite and sat there for about an hour drinking, never seeing our waitress again. We considered leaving without the bill before getting another waiter to send her out (he said "oh she's new... and she kinda sucks.)

We got in the show to see the last bit of Westbound Train. I got pictures and autographs from the guys in Less Than Jake. That's me with Chris and Vinnie.

Me and Roger.

Buddy and Me.

It's true, I got a Natural Light by the bathroom.

Goldfinger came on shortly after that. They were great. They played a bunch of old stuff and only a few new songs. In the middle of the show, someone came across the pit and slammed into my knee. It was painful but I kept moving and it hurt less after a while.

I was sweaty and exhausted after the set and got to meet John Feldman for a picture.

Less Than Jake played next. They played quite a few good songs but they played a lot of newer songs that I don't know. Overall they played well and we had fun.

We started driving home after the show, we stopped and got crappy food at 7-11 cuz we were all that hungry. It seemed like a long ride home, including a detour that took us in a circle back to where the detour started. I was very tired when I got back and went to sleep quickly.

I went to Diebra's in the afternoon after spending most of the day at home. I was quite hungry, but we went to get pizza.

After eating, she woke up Pollock and took him outside for his photo shoot.

We got some good pictures of him and hopefully one will be just good enough to get wallet size pictures made.

After that was finished, I went over to Maureen's to watch Charlie Wilson's War. I liked it. I tried my best to get to sleep early since we had a big day coming up.
