After a nice sleep, I got and had something to eat and psyched myself up for what was ahead. Ryan and I signed up for the gym's triathlon challenge and today was the day. We met up and got ready for it (sort of. I don't think I was actually ready for it at any point.) It started with 800 meters of rowing. This part wasn't so bad but I didn't feel like I was doing well.
The next part was 3 miles on the stationary bike. This part seemed to take forever. I was getting exhausted and it just didn't feel like I was making any progress. Not only that but I was watching Ryan's meter surpass me and he didn't seem to be bothered so much by it.
The last part was a mile run. It was so hard to keep going after the bike but I knew I only had to run a mile and I just cranked up the treadmill and ran. It felt like the distance meter was moving extra slow but I just tried to ignore it and run faster. Luckily, I made up some time on the run to end with a time of 21:47. The trainers said that was better than the best time for last year so that's good stuff.
Ryan finished in just over 24 minutes. I don't think either of us would have done nearly as well if we didn't have the other one pushing us along. It was basically just something we do normally being sponsored by the gym. We stretched a little bit and cooled down after that. It was definitely a workout. Maybe I'm not ready for the real thing...
Even though my Photo class was canceled I went up to Rowan early to finish my Logic paper which ended up not having to be as long as I had thought. I finished early and hung out with Joanna for a while until we had classes. I had Logic, where our professor seemed unusually annoyed with the class. I'm glad to see he's coming around to the way I feel. After that wonderful classroom experience I went to Landmark with Shannon for a few drinks and to talk. Glad I could make her feel a little better. Maybe I'm taking too much credit, it was probably the beer..
