The awesome shirt I got.

New Years Eve 2008! Or is it 2007? However it's written, tonight was fun. I didn't do much during the day. I had to go to the doctor for his signature on my Rutgers immunization sheet. I ran a few errands and saw Jess for the first time in forever. I gave her the framed picture of New York I made for her for Christmas. I rested a little at home and had hot dogs with my grandmom until Katie showed up at my house and we left for Sayreville. We had a few beers in the parking lot before going in. Circa Survive was coming on as we came through the doors. They played very well, it was a lot of fun. Thursday came out to everyone's screams and applause. They said it was their longest set they've ever played and it was a great one. They took a brief break before midnight and came back out to count us down to zero and 2008. As soon as we got to zero, they started playing Jet Black New Year. That was the moment I really went for. Balloons dropped and people had party hats and horns. It was an awesome way to celebrate. After the show ended we got back to the bar for the after-party. We didn't drink anything, just hung out and a few band members were chilling with the DJ. It was a long drive home, but despite the signs warning for extra enforcement for DUIs, I only saw about two cops the whole drive there and back. I am pretty tired now, I look forward to sleeping a lot tomorrow.

EDIT: Here are videos from the show!

Packed up the trunk.

Second best part of the trip.

I thought the ski lift shadow looked cool...

My blinking neon chest.

Ski Day! Our annual ski trip came earlier than it has in a few years, back to when we used to go on my birthday weekend. This is one of the days I look forward to more than anything else every year. Ryan and I met up somewhat early and got our stuff together then headed up to Blue Mountain. We made great time, no traffic and no rushing when we got there. It was pretty crowded but it could have been much worse. We skiied for about 4 hours, taking a break for food, the other best part about the trip. We always get Wawa sandwiches and leave them in the car so when we come out they're extremely cold and great to eat. I fell a few times and I'm sore right now. When we got back to Ryan's, I went to Katie's and watched Arrested Development for a little while before coming home to update this and go to sleep. Time for step 2.

Dec 29, 2007

Today was my birthday. It was great. I got up and got ready for Katie to pick me up. She came over a little late, but she told me to pick any foodery and we'd go. So I picked Outback Steakhouse, but it was closed, so we went to Olive Garden instead. It was great though. After lunch, she gave me presents that I wasn't expecting in the parking lot. There was a camera bag for the camera I'm getting, an argyle sweater shirt, penguin boxers and a box of the caramel wafers she made. She took me home after because she had to go to work. I stopped by my grandmom's house, she gave me an Applebee's gift card. Then I went to my dad's to help him move some things but he had already done it. They got me an awesome hoodie though. I went to the mall and walked around with Natalie a bit and talked to Katie. After shopping, I came home to get my stuff and went to pick up Tracy. She gave me a big bag of goodies, including: a book, glasses for my place at school, a Rutgers hoodie and the obligatory penguin! Once I'd opened them, we headed off to Philly. We had a drink at Mako's then headed into the show. All the bands had played except for the Starting Line so we wandered around until the lights went down, then we pushed to the front and enjoyed the show. They played lots of good songs, just a lot of new ones I'm not familiar with. Apres le show, we met up with Christie, Laura, Jimmy, Jeff, Sam & Maureen at Mako's and had birthday drinks. Christie's and Laura's birthday were last week so it was a dual celebration. Christie and I went and got pizza for everyone at Lorenzo's ("Are you ready for this?!?") It was an awesome night, we even got to hear the songs we played on the jukebox! I didn't get too drunk, so once we got home I was able to drive the five miles from Tracy's to my house with no problem. Can't complain about this anniversary of my birth!
